PCComplete Custom Assembled Computers

PCComplete assembles computers to match the individual needs of our customers. "Custom assembled computers designed to the customers' needs are more effective in both cost and performance than a computer built in bulk and mass marketed" explains Marshall Miller. "Quality is the primary concern at PCComplete. If a computer is built without taking shortcuts using top quality components, everyone -- customer, end user, and system builder -- profits. There is a much lower rate of hardware related issues with these systems which translates to fewer service calls and downtime. Since time is money in the world of business, that gives our customers the opportunity to make more money."

Build Room Crew

PCComplete assembles each computer ordered by hand to the customers' needs.

With the ability to install only parts that are needed or wanted, the customer avoids frills which cause problems -- especially in vertical market applications. This has given PCComplete an edge providing PCs to point of sale, industrial control, and data collection vendors. Many restaurants and grocery stores rely on PCComplete custom assembled computers to provide service 24 hours daily, 7 days a week year round. Without extra hardware to cause software or hardware conflicts, these PCs operate with less than a 1% rate of total service calls to PCComplete (including software and environmental damage). "We have users running all the major operating systems on our hardware" states Darryl Wattenberg, PCComplete's Director of Operations. "Many of the O/Ses -- especially Windows NT and UNIX -- are very picky about what products are installed in the system. These users have had tremendous trouble with PCs from the major manufactures. Not only could these PCs not meet their pricing needs, but they continuously generated conflicts which drove our customers to search for alternate computers. Most often, it was the sound card or some other component built-in to the motherboard, which could not be removed. That's specifically why we at PCComplete have always avoided integrated components. Our customers have certainly reaped the benefits."

According to Marshall Miller; "custom assembled PCs aren't just for people wanting cheap or stripped down PCs. We have other customers dictating specific hardware for their office PCs and workstations which they can't get from one of the bigger companies." The custom approach allows companies to add better components where needed (ie. video card, network card, or even sound card) and lower cost components in areas that they don't really need the quality or performance. Marshall continues that "...even our power user customers have us build PCs for their home use. Basically, unless you're a novice looking for a cheap, disposable, starter machine, custom built is the best solution."
